Impacts IT has on businesses

Due to the introduction of IT a lot more people are losing their jobs because shop owners have now got a variety of computers that are used within their business such as security doors for only staff to go through. Also, another impact IT has had on communities is that there are hardly any one writing anything using a pen and paper because everyone is on computers. Other impacts are when you are doing a project and want to find something out more people tend to go on the computers and find it rather than going to a library and getting it from a book. Due to this the libraries would shut because there would be no-one coming to get a book because they can read it on the internet. Also, shops like Tesco have benefited from IT because they give out Tesco cards to customers that has a magnetic strip on it so it can identify each person and keep track of everything they bought and gives them deals on certain items they buy.

  • Hackers
  • Viruses
  • Phishing (Identity theft)
There are ways of preventing these threats from grabbing your personal files such as putting in a firewall so hackers cannot pass through, you can prevent viruses by installing anti-virus software such as Kaspersky, McAfee to help keep your computer safe from Trojan horses, browser hijackers and people looking to try and find a backdoor into your system.
